RESIDUAL LIQUID CONTENT

The gas flow carried with huge amount of droplet will still keep a small part of droplets after the mist eliminator; this small part of droplets will be named residual liquid content, which is the most important performance parameter.

The meaning of the residual liquid content:

The escaped droplet is actually the gypsum slurry with 10-15% content of gypsum solid.

1. If the FGD system equipped with GGH, the gypsum slurry will be changed to gypsum powder because the flue gas temperature become higher. The gypsum powder will stay at the GGH surface and lead to GGH clogging. So the higher mist eliminator performance and the lower GGH clogging possibility.

2. If the FGD system non-equipped with GGH, the gypsum slurry plus the condensation water resulted from the gas temperature down passing through the clean gas duct and chimney will run out the chimney and possibly lead to the gypsum slurry rain.
